Referencing the narrative friezes of Athenian Geometric diadems, the cigar band is ornamented with a granulated border and central Nona motif. Our nine-granule motif is named both for the Latin word Nona, meaning ‘to have nine,’ and the Italian familial name for grandmother, Nonna.
